R&DO Sports Carnival 2025 Kicks Off, Strengthening Unity Among Sarawak Civil Servants

KOTA SAMARAHAN: The R&DO Sports Carnival (KSR) 2025 officially kicked off with the participation of 12 administrative divisions from across Sarawak, aimed at enhancing unity and cooperation among civil servants.
Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Administration), Datu Buckland Bangik, said the organisation of the carnival represents a significant effort not only to promote a sporting culture but also to cultivate unity, discipline and mutual understanding among members of the state civil service.
"This carnival is not merely a sporting event but a platform that strengthens togetherness, instils discipline, promotes a healthy lifestyle and enhances inter-organisational cooperation within Sarawak's administration," he said.
His text of speech was delivered by Samarahan Resident, Mohamad Irwan Bahari Bujang, during the opening ceremony of the SCS R&DO Samarahan Sports Carnival 2025 held at the Sarawak Farmer's Organisation Auditorium, Kota Samarahan, on Thursday.
Datu Buckland added that KSR 2025 features five sporting events, including football, netball, badminton, ping pong and pickleball, with matches being held at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) and The Summer Mall from 7 to 9 November.
He noted that through the organisation of sports activities, civil servants are encouraged to adopt a healthy lifestyle, thereby improving both physical and mental fitness.
Physical and mental fitness will further strengthen our ability to work more productively and innovatively in delivering excellent and effective services to the community," he said.
Also present were Sarikei Resident, Datu Michael Ronnie Langgong, Mukah Resident, Datu Kueh Lei Poh, Betong Resident, Datu Richard Michael Abunawas, Residents from Sibu, Kuching, Miri, Limbang, Serian, Sri Aman, and Kapit, the Acting Bintulu Resident, Deputy Residents, and District Officers from various divisions. -UKASnews
