KOTA SAMARAHAN: Although Syawal is coming to an end, the excitement of the Aidilfitri celebration continues to be enlivened in Samarahan Division through the organisation of the Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri which took place in full vigour at the Samarahan Community Hall, on Thursday.

The ceremony, which brought together various government agencies, was made even more special by the presence of the Sarawak Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki and his wife, Datin Amar Baduyah Bujang, who also spent time with the local community in a friendly and cheerful atmosphere.

His arrival was welcomed by Samarahan Division Resident, Mohamad Irwan Bahari Bujang before visiting each participating agency's stall.

As an appreciation to the agencies involved in the preparation and decoration of the stalls, 30 agencies received certificates of participation presented by Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki.

He also presented prizes to the winners of the Most Beautiful Stall Competition which was won by UiTM Sarawak Branch and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS).

The programme was also attended by Simunjan Assemblyman, Awla Dris who took the opportunity to present a donation of duit raya to the asnaf as a symbol of concern and the spirit of continued unity in the community.

Visitors were not only served with special food, but were also entertained with performances by guest artists and lucky draws, that made the event more lively and brought back memories of Aidilfitri. - UKASnews
