Tarikh : 21 Jun 2018  Sumber Berita: The Borneo Post

KUCHING: The Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) blood bank is currently experiencing low stocks of type A, B, and O blood.

A press release yesterday said the low blood stocks is due to the decrease in the number of donors during the fasting month.

The press release said there was also an increase in the number of cases such as vomiting blood, internal bleeding injuries due to accidents, complicated surgeries, and the daily usage of cancer patients – such as those with leukaemia, as well as thalassemia patients at the hospital.

On Saturday (June 23) from 10am to 3pm, the blood bank’s mobile units will be at Emart Batu Kawah for a campaign organised by Tay Motors, as well as at Wisma Wan, Tabuan Jaya.

On Sunday (June 24), mobile units will be at Plaza Merdeka, Level 2 for a blood drive organised by the Chinese Youth Association from 9am to 2.30pm, as well as at Vivacity Megamall for a campaign organised by Media 38 from 10am to 3pm.

The SGH blood bank welcomes government departments and agencies, as well as non-governmental organisations to hold blood drives to boost the supply.
